2019 Spring Engagement Ring Trends
The latest trends for spring engagement rings are hot off the runway and are as unique as they have ever been!
Fashion rules were made to be broken, and this year’s designs are proof. Award-winning ring designer from Krikawa Jewelry Designs, Lisa Krikawa reported, “This is an exciting year for taking traditional styles and breaking free through the execution. Of course, traditional styles will always be desirable – but it is refreshing to watch how creative clients and designers are getting. Clients now understand that customizing their engagement and wedding rings is not overly expensive and provides that extra “je ne sais quoi” we are all after… often found in the details.”
We agree – it is sometimes the frosting that brings a ring up to the next level of elegance, sophistication, and individuality. The spring engagement ring lineup does just that and demonstrates how thinking outside the box introduces different gemstone-to-metal combinations that would barely have been imagined in the past.
The four trending engagement ring styles that have become the basis for this year’s wow factor are:
- Diamond Halos
- Fancy Cut
- Unique Shapes
- Multiple Stones.
Read on to get the sparkling highlights.
Diamond Halos
For those who aren’t in the know, a halo ring is a setting that encircles a center stone with smaller round pavé gemstones. The idea is to create a “halo” effect by reflecting light on the centerpiece stone. The stones can be diamonds or gemstones of any color. In fact, fancy colored diamonds are now being used to surround a large white diamond or as the center stone. Look at the imaginative array of Diamond Halo Engagement rings – great idea starters for those who are looking to branch out of the ordinary.
Fancy Cut
A fancy cut diamond is any diamond shape besides round. There are several popular fancy cuts shapes available these days, such as oval, pear, princess, emerald, and heart – to name a few. Note: Fancy cuts can also include halo settings, as you can see in the photos above. It’s a mix and match sort of arrangement and can also be as simple as a cocktail ring, as you can see from the bottom right photo with the yellow diamond.
Unique Shapes – Cardi B’s 8-carat Pear Cut
Need we say more? This 8-carat pear cut diamond is a statement ring and complements her hand so beautifully we can’t take our eyes off of it. Check out the close-up photo below.
With so many unique shapes from which to choose, there is always the option of creating your very own custom ring design.
Multiple Stones
Meghan Markle’s famous three-stone diamond engagement ring so perhaps that is what set the tone for this year’s runway trends. The design is fit for a duchess, but also for everyone who loves a multiple stone ring! In her case, Prince Harry purchased the large stone – which is called a cushion-cut diamond – from Botswana. The two additional diamonds came from his mother’s – Princess Diana’s – jewelry collection to “make sure that she’s with them on their crazy journey together.”
So whether you’re looking for an engagement ring or simply a new ring made out of fine materials, consider the four styles that are becoming the basis for the utmost in creativity and individuality. Off-the-shelf is nice, but having something you will treasure for the rest of your life is amazing and you will be surprised at the ease with which it can happen. Between outstanding jewelry designers, computer modeling and 3D printing, the future of jewelry design has completely changed.
